29" downhill bike

I want to know more about the full suspension bikes you build!

I build 2 types of full suspension bike.

The first uses a custom steel front triangle mated to a Ventana rear end. The Waltworks/Ventana bikes are intended for anything from cross country to light freeride, can be configured for 26" or 29" wheels, and typically weigh (for an average rider) about 7 pounds for frame and shock. They are available configured for 3", 4", 5", or 6" rear travel, and any amount of fork travel you want. They are fully custom, with the exception of chainstay length, which is only semi-customizable (it ranges from 450-465mm on the 29" wheel model). The WW/Ventana frame costs $1850, and includes a seat collar, all shock mounting hardware, and a Fox RP23 rear shock. Other shocks are also available if you don't like Fox.

I also build single pivot downhill bikes (as shown in the picture above), using super-beefy True Temper Supertherm tubing and my own thru-axle pivot design. Downhill bikes can be built for any wheel/tire size, any amount of travel (front and rear), and feature fully custom geometry, including (if you want them) super-short chainstays (any chainstay length desired from 425 to 465mm). I can build around any rear hub (135, 150, or 165mm, 10 or 12mm axle), and any rear shock. A typical downhill frame weighs about 11 pounds, including the shock, but weight is heavily dependent on the rider and riding style. Custom downhill frames cost $2000, and include a rear shock from Rockshox, Manitou, or Marzocchi. If you prefer to have the frame built around your own shock (8" maximum eye to eye length), a frame with no shock or mounting hardware costs $1700.

-Lifetime warranty applies to both the Ventana/WW and downhill frames, for the original owner only.

-Full parts kits are available as well, please check the pricing page for details.

-Wait time is the same as for any other frame - check the waitlist for wait time details.

-Still want more info? There's lots of info on various full suspension projects on my blog. May through June of 2007 has most of the DH bike construction pictures and info.
