You only need one wheel to have fun... |

How much will my frame weigh?
First, be aware that weight is NOT my #1 priority when designing and building a frame. Is having a light bike nice? It sure is, but
having a light bike that handles badly and falls apart isn't so fun. If you're looking for the absolute lightest possible frame, I'm probably
not your guy - I build bikes that are intended to last 20 years, or more, and ride just like you want them to. I have no interest in sacrificing those
qualities for a few grams of weight.
Ok. I'll spare you the lecture. The actual weight of the frames I build varies from 3.5 pounds or so for a smaller sized bike for a light rider, up to 6 or 7 pounds for a
really big, aggressive freerider. It really depends on your physique and riding style. The "average" 29er frame that I build, for an average 170 pound rider, will weigh approximately 4.2 pounds. Lighter
riders can obviously get lighter frames, bigger folks will need more material and hence heavier ones.
How about a custom fork?
